Helping the world grow the food it needs goes beyond mining and manufacturing phosphate for use in fertilizers at Mosaic. It means supporting organizations in the communities where we operate that provide safe, healthy and accessible food options to those vulnerable to food insecurity.
Each year, we work alongside FFA and 4H programs to support youth farming in Florida. Both programs offer a hands-on approach to preparing Florida students for a career in agriculture. Students learn skills like, how to properly care for and raise animals, live off the land, and responsibility. Participants raise and prepare livestock for sale at the annual county fairs.
This year, we provided 680 add-ons to support exhibitors and purchased and donated over 13,500 pounds of meat through our partnership with FFA and 4H to support youth ag. This translates to over 27,000 meals donated to over 20 local hunger-relief, community and youth organizations in our operating areas, including:
- All Faiths Food Bank
- DeSoto High School Band
- Hardee Help Center
- Mulberry Community Service Center
- Bartow Church Service Center
- Duette Community Association
- Hardee Junior Class
- NuHope Elder Care
- Bradley Community Project
- F.E.L.T. (Feeding Empty Little Tummies)
- Help of Fort Meade

Daughter of Mosaic employee and George Jenkins FFA member, Grace Frier shares what Mosaic’s support through the purchase of her market hog meant to her.
“Mosaic’s continued support has allowed me to learn important skills and a lot about the agriculture industry. The support from Mosaic has far reaching impacts to communities in Florida. The meat from my market animal has been donated to local hunger-relief organization. It is great to see a project I worked countless hours on go to help those in need,” said Grace.
