We know that caring for nature is good for business…

At Mosaic, we know that caring for the environment is good for business… That’s why our commitment to environmental stewardship can be seen throughout our operations. From planting millions of trees through our cutting-edge land reclamation programs, to reusing or recycling approximately 95% of the water we use – to one of our most ambitious goals to date – and that’s net zero greenhouse gas emissions in Florida by 2030, and throughout our operations by 2040.

A leader in using renewable energy…

Throughout our history, Mosaic has been a leader in using renewable energy by transforming the excess heat from our manufacturing operations into electricity that powers those operations. But now we’re taking things two steps further.

Countdown to zero…

We’re reducing greenhouse gas emissions from our self-generated electricity, and we’ll partner with our electric utility providers to ensure the energy we acquire from other sources is not only clean by today’s standards, but is net zero in greenhouse emissions. But our commitment to net zero doesn’t stop at the doors of our facilities. We’re also looking at ways to acquire the raw materials used in our manufacturing process, and at the methods used to utilize the products we produce to help reduce greenhouse gasses related to those processes as well.

Early success show that this ambitious goal is within reach!

Our net zero targets are in addition to the wide range of 2025 ESG Performance Targets (PDF) set last year, including to reduce companywide GHG emissions and freshwater use per unit of production by 20%. In 2020, Mosaic made progress (ESG Performance Targets Progress (PDF)) toward both goals, achieving a 10% reduction in GHG emissions and an 18% reduction in freshwater use per unit of production since the baseline was set in 2020.
