Each week, thousands of food-insecure children access local Backpack programs like those offered by KidsPACK and One More Child. At Mosaic, we know the importance of supporting programming that makes our local communities stronger, which is why we are so excited to continue our longstanding partnership with the Lakeland Magic.
“At Mosaic, we proudly support food organizations and initiatives fueling the fight against hunger in the communities where we operate,” shares Sarah Fedorchuk, Vice President, Government and Public Relations – North America. “Our continued partnership with the Lakeland Magic and Hoops for Hunger has raised over $90,0000 to date.”
Hoops for Hunger
During the regular 2021-22 season, Mosaic donates $200 for every three-pointer made by the Lakeland Magic in support of two backpack programs with KidsPACK and One More Child to help ensure no child goes hungry.
KidsPACK’s mission is the bridge the gap between subsidized school breakfast and lunch programs are in place during school hours and mealtime for these very same children during evenings, weekends and over the summer months. The organization, which operates out of Polk County feeds more than 1700 children in 73 different schools.
Funding from Hoops for Hunger helps support their backpack programming for school-aged children.
One More Child
Last year, over 324,000 children and individuals in Central Florida were cared for by One More Child. Funding received through the Hoops for Hunger program helps provide backpacks filled with food for local school children each week to ensure that no child is hungry.
Cheer on the Magic at their home opener on Friday, November 5 and throughout the season as we join forces in the fight against hunger.
