Investing in Tomorrow’s Leaders Today
Nourishing crops isn’t our only priority—we’re nourishing minds, too. We work hand in hand with schools and education foundations to support programs that benefit local teachers and students.
Mosaic’s Phosphate Operations in Florida supplies approximately $450,000 annually in support of K-12 education throughout our operating area. This funding enables local students to participate in a variety of educational programs during the school year that include everything from learning about marine science, biology and ecosystems in outdoor classrooms to taking part in programs aimed at helping improve students’ overall reading and math scores.

That’s why Mosaic’s Phosphate Operations in Florida are so passionate about teaming up with local education partners to make sure high school and college students are equipped with the tools they need to be successful in a postsecondary setting.
Because of the collaborative relationships we’ve built with local teachers and students, we’ve been able to identify inventive learning opportunities that not only reinforce what’s being taught in the classroom, but also provide hands-on experiences that help prepare students for college and career success.

Preparing for the Future Together
Phosphate and fertilizer products are responsible for roughly 46,000 Florida jobs, generating nearly $3.1 billion in personal income in our regional economy. We’ve got a vested interest in helping provide growth opportunities that will assure long-term career success.
According to the Hillsborough Education Foundation, “half of the fastest-growing occupations in Florida require some training beyond high school, but not a traditional college degree.”
Not only does workforce training offer the opportunity for students of any age to find a career path, it also helps strengthen the pipeline of responsible, productive, competent contributors to our local workforce.

In order to meet the current and future demands for these positions, Mosaic partners with local colleges to support the development of the curriculum needed for these types of skilled trades.
Mosaic supports grants for local educational partners in support of training programs. We do not currently fund individual scholarships.

Community Grants
Our employees make meaningful contributions of their time, knowledge and resources to local organizations to help make the communities in which we operate stronger.
