At Mosaic, our mission is to help the world grow the food it needs, and we know that it begins right here at home. By contributing to meaningful initiatives and programs, we can make a positive impact on our local communities and around the world. In partnership with the Tampa Bay Lightning, our Goals for Food program demonstrates this commitment and helps those who are most vulnerable to food insecurity.
This year’s Goals for Food presenting night will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, when the Lightning take on the Ottawa Senators. Each year, Mosaic donates $1,000 for every goal scored at home by the Lightning and $1,500 for every hat trick. So far this year, Mosaic will be donating more than $140,000 to more than a dozen regional food partners. Additionally, all canned goods brought to Ford Thunder Alley before the game will be donated to Metropolitan Ministries. A donation drop off will be set up outside prior to the game.
Last year, Mosaic celebrated the 10-year total of $980,000 donated to food partners in the Tampa Bay area. Each dollar equates to 10 meals to help fight hunger and food insecurity. These donations have provided more than 10 million meals to our local communities, helping alleviate hunger for those most vulnerable in Tampa Bay and surrounding communities.
We’re proud to partner with the Lightning for the 11th season of the Goals for Food program. Learn more about our food partners and the important work they do by watching the videos below.
