Libraries connect people to their community by promoting an atmosphere of public collaboration and learning. Through our partnership with Friends of the Library of Tampa in Hillsborough County, the new Riverview Public Library can further its initiatives with a Mosaic-funded space, aptly named the Mosaic Café.
Located near the Library’s main entrance, the Mosaic Café highlights the history of the phosphate industry in the Riverview area, and the critical role it plays in helping the world grow the food it needs. Visitors can also learn about the history of agriculture in Hillsborough County, the impact of sustainable practices on the environment, and Mosaic’s contributions in these areas.
“The newly constructed Riverview Public Library is an amazing classic Florida-style building that includes a new café thanks to Mosaic’s $40,000 investment,” shares Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library’s Director of Library Services, Andrew Breidenbaugh. “The space offers a welcoming environment for the community to read, study, access the library’s free wireless internet, plug in their laptop, and relax.”
A projected 250,000 annual visitors will have the opportunity to view the educational phosphate display. The Mosaic Café, pictured below, is currently unfurnished due to Covid-19 safety precautions, will be fully furnished at a later date.
“Mosaic has invested in the Riverview community by partnering with the library to offer its residents a space focused on education, development, and community prosperity,” adds Breidenbaugh.
The new building replaces the previous library site, a staple of the Riverview community, which we have proudly supported for many years. Learn more about the new Riverview Library here
